A Word on Confidence

With hard work, consistency, and my programs, you’ll for sure transform your body. My goal is for you to love and enjoy being in your body each day more than you ever have before. You’ll see that on this journey you’ll learn many valuable lessons that will help you to build confidence in yourself and your abilities, lessons that apply to all areas of life. Some of these being:

  1. CONSISTENCY > INTENSITY. Working at something a little each day will take you farther than working really hard once (and it allows for more rest and enjoyment).
  2. IN ORDER TO ACHIEVE LONGEVITY, YOU MUST HAVE A STRONG CORE. A house built on a weak foundation will not stand. A sturdy foundation (physically speaking, strong core muscles) will allow you to build and grow for all of your life and not just for a season.
  3. YOU’RE RUNNING A MARATHON, NOT A SPRINT. What you’re headed for is bigger than what you can imagine right now; pace yourself and don’t get discouraged. You will grow every day, but you won’t always see your growth. So just be patient and don’t look left or right to compare yourself to others. Instead, look back and applaud yourself for how far you’ve come and look forward to how much farther you can go.
  4. YOU CAN MASTER ANYTHING YOU PRACTICE. You will overcome the things that intimidate you and the barriers that stand in your way by facing them head on. The more you practice this, the stronger you get and the weaker they seem. Keep practicing your execution and watch yourself master what you once couldn’t do.
  5. CORRECT FORM IS KEY. Doing a thing the right way will not only prevent harm to yourself, but will take you farther and faster than you could ever imagine. Learning the correct form takes time and it may feel like you’re going unproductively slow during this stage, but the time spent crawling is preparing you to sprint – so don’t skip it or rush it.
  6. GROWTH IS FOR THE TAKING. Weights don’t talk – so, if you’re waiting on the weights to tell you to level up, it’ll never happen. You have to take your growth into your own hands and it will be uncomfortable and maybe even unmanageable at first, but the more you grind and face the struggle, the better you’ll get at it. Eventually it’ll get easy and you’ll get comfortable… but then level up again.

Each day you’ll be doing the work and showing up for yourself despite what challenges or distractions come your way and that kind of achievement must be celebrated! So don’t be shy to throw on some clothes and dress yourself up or take some off and show some skin – whatever makes you feel beautiful! However you dress up your gains (or losses), just never forget that the truest of confidence is one that comes not from the physical state, but from the spiritual state. This confidence requires you to get into God’s presence (through prayer, the Word, and worship) and be certain (confident) that NO MATTER WHAT you may face or what you have done or what unforeseen circumstance is sent to derail you, GOD. HAS. YOUR. BACK. You will never lose or be defeated (1 Corinthians 15:57). So stand firm and let nothing shake you – not doubt, not your past mistakes, not your insecurities, not your haters, NOTHING. Be confident in the One who made you and you’ll find yourself shining brighter than this world has ever seen.

Love always,

Rowena
